About Camp Kookaburra 

Welcome to Camp Kookaburra, a vibrant school camp nestled in 60 hectares of beautiful rural bushland near Corop, in the heart of Central Victoria.

 

Positioned perfectly between the bustling regional town of Bendigo and the historic charm of Echuca on the Murray River, Camp Kookaburra offers an unforgettable outdoor experience for students of all ages.

Your hosts, Carlie and Josh, are excited to welcome you to one of CY Camps' four unique campgrounds, where nature, adventure, and learning come together in an inspiring environment.

Catering

We provide catering services for schools and community groups,with the added flexibility for groups to choose self-catering if preferred

Facilities 

We have an air-conditioned dining room and a separate recreation room. There’s an open fire, a table tennis table, and a pool table.

Accessibility

We strive to create an inclusive environment where all guests, regardless of their needs, can fully participate in the camp experience and enjoy everything we have to offer.

Minimum group size 

Normally the minimum group size required is 40 (or by negotiation).

A minimum charge applies.

Day Trips

Day trip to Echuca.

Enjoy a conducted tour of the Historic Port of Echuca followed by a ride on the Paddle Steamer “Pevensey” to experience Australia’s unique and fascinating Murray River Paddle Wheeler history. After lunch we visit Twisted Science or Sharp’s Movie House and Penny Arcade to play the antique machines. Return to Kookaburra in time for the evening meal.

Day trip to Bendigo

This day includes, among a wide variety of options to visit in Bendigo, an underground conducted tour of ‘Central Deborah’, Bendigo’s last working mine which closed in 1954. After lunch we can visit “Discovery”, Bendigo’s unique science and technology centre, where there is the option of a thrilling ride on the vertical slide as well as “hands on” experiences with the many interesting and challenging exhibits.

 Day trip to Kyabram Fauna Park

At the Fauna Park you can visit the reptile house, walk through aviaries, observe dingoes, koalas and kangaroos as well as enjoy a conducted classroom lesson that gives participants a great insight into our native animals as well as our local Aboriginal culture.

Whether you are staying one night or four, we have instructors who are experienced in outdoor activities. Our team will be happy to assist you with your programs and activities.
